Antec P193 Advanced Super Mid Tower Review
The Performance One series of cases from Antec have been extremely solid and have been around for quite a while now. If you go to a LAN party you are sure to see a P180, P182, or even a P183 somewhere. All of the cases offer great cooling and a lot of storage room. Today we will be looking at the “big boy” of the Performance Once series the P193. This massive case is designed much like the P183 except it is much larger so you can fit pretty much anything inside of it! Let’s take a look at the P193 and see if it is the perfect case for you! Special thanks to Antec for providing us with the P193 Advanced Super Mid Tower to review. The P193 comes in a very nice retail box that has pictures of the case both on the front and back. On the side of the case there is a list of specifications. Opening the box up the case is nicely protected with large pieces of Styrofoam and plastic. Also when you get the case out of the box the front of the case has a plastic film on it to protect it from scratches. The P193 is a VERY large case. The actual dimensions of the case are 20.25? (H) x 8.1? (W) x 23.25? (D). I’m not sure why Antec is still calling this case a Mid Tower, but oh well. The P193 has an all black design with a silver aluminum door that gives the P193 a very sleek look.
Antec P193 Computer Case/Chassis
When you ask people to think of companies that make quality cases, Antec is one of the names that springs to mind almost immediately. The Antec Sonata case was one of the first commercially produced cases designed to virtually eliminate noise. While the Sonata and its successors do that job quite well, one area they’ve typically fallen short on is cooling. Antec’s answer to this was the P180, a case that managed to be quiet and provide high airflow. Continuing in this line, Antec’s latest offering is the P193, the first of the Performance One cases to support the Extended ATX form factor. Soon, we’ll have a look at this case, and see whether it delivers on its promises. First though, let’s look at what it’s promising. As you’ve doubtless noticed by now, the P193 has quite a variety of fan mounts. Were one so inclined, one could have up to seven fans installed in this system at once, not counting any mounted on CPU or GPU heatsinks. Obviously this is overkill, and in the manual Antec even recommends not to install any more fans than necessary, to avoid excessive noise.
