New "economy" custom build for a client.

9.29 min.

All the parts are brand new. Had to be some decent brands, in case bad things happen, you can count on a replacement. Of course I could scrap some older parts and buy stuff on eBay, or get some used, but when building a new system for someone who trusts you with their money, I decided to buy new technology, and new parts so customer gets full warranty. Going with Intel, as I first intended, would make this build at least 100$ more expensive and the client didn't want that, so we went with an AMD build. I realize I've gotten an nVidia card for his AMD mobo, but he is never were gonna go SLI, so this card has the best performance in his price range and it came out just weeks ago. Part list: AMD Phenom II Black Edition X4 965 3.4 GHz 8.0 MB total cache Socket AM3 ASRock 870 Extreme 3 mobo with True 333 Corsair XMS3 DDR3 4GB (2x2GB) set 1600MHz 8-8-8-24 1.65V ver7.1 EVGA GTS450 1GB GDDR5 SC (Superclocked Edition) Western Digital Black Caviar 750GB HD (32MB cache, 7200 RPM) Antec EarthWatts 750W PSU, hybrid modular design LiteOn DVD-RW Drive 24x Rosewill Challenger mid-tower gaming case.

Rosewill Challenger gaming case unboxing

5.13 min.

Well, it's another unboxing video from me! Now with 80% more commentary! This is (if you're completely deaf (no offense to the deaf) or don't read the titles/descriptions of the videos that you're watching) an unboxing video for the Rosewill Challenger gaming case. For the unknowledgeable, it's a midsized ATX-form gamers case. Reviews on Newegg are pretty positive about it, and it's cheap, so that's why I bought it. This video is most likely going to be the first in a series. As I think I mentioned, this is only one of 12 or 13 parts that have come in so far, and I'm going to show the unboxing/building/OS installation for everything. For the curious, the specs are as follows: Intel Core i7-950 Quad-core processor @3.06 GHz per core. I'm not planning on overclocking. Gigabyte GA-X58A-USB3 motherboard Cooler Master Hyper 212 fan/heatsink EVGA nVidia GTX 460 SE GPU 1 GB G.SKILL 6 GB DDR3 SDRAM Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD 1 TB Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner Antec EarthWatts 750W PSU Rosewill Challenger gaming case (featured) Rosewill USB 2.0 External WiFi adapter (couldn't find a PCIe card with good OS X compatibility) As I mentioned in the video, I'm going to install both Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and Mac OS X Snow Leopard on this machine, with the 1 TB drive having three partitions (two 400 GB partitions for each OS and a shared 200 GB partition, going by OS X's byte counting scheme). I'll show the installation of these in another video.
